Multi-Frequency Metal Detectors

Multi-frequency detectors transmit several frequencies at once instead of making you pick one. In practice that means better performance across mixed ground without stopping to change settings: low frequencies reach deeper on larger silver, high frequencies pick up small gold and thin foil, and the machine reconciles the two. It is why simultaneous multi-frequency machines like the Minelab Manticore, Equinox 900 and XP Deus II have taken over beach and general-purpose hunting. On mild inland soil a good single-frequency VLF still holds its own.
