Garrett ATX

The ATX was Garrett's military-grade pulse induction detector, built to a specification that showed: fully submersible to ten feet, collapsible, and effectively immune to the ground mineralization and salt that stop VLF machines. Prospectors used it on ground nothing else would handle, and beach hunters used it where black sand was too much for everything else. It was heavy and it needed a harness, which was always the price of that capability. It is no longer made. Garrett's current pulse induction machine is the Garrett Axiom, which delivers comparable depth at roughly half the weight.
