Relic sites are rarely clean. Old homesteads, battlefields and farm fields are full of nails, buckshot and barbed wire, and the buttons and coins worth finding sit right next to them. What matters here is recovery speed and target separation, meaning how quickly a detector resets between hits so it can still call the good target beside the iron. The XP Deus II, Nokta The Legend and Minelab Manticore are all strong in trash. Bring a smaller coil for the tightest ground, and be prepared to dig some iron.
