Older detectors use a quarter-inch jack, most modern ones use an eighth-inch plug or a proprietary wireless protocol, and submersible hunting demands a genuinely waterproof set rated for the depth you swim. Low impedance suits some machines and high impedance others, so check the model listing rather than assuming.
