Relic & Treasure Metal Detectors

An old homestead, a battlefield or a long-farmed field is never clean ground. A century of nails, wire, tin and horseshoes went into that dirt alongside the buttons, buckles and coins you actually came for, and the two end up sitting inches apart. That is why relic hunters care less about raw depth than about recovery speed, which is how quickly a detector resets after one target so it can still give you a clear signal on the next one. A slow machine hears a nail and a coin together and reports one confused response; a fast one calls them separately and lets you decide. The XP Deus II, Nokta The Legend and Minelab Manticore all handle that job well, and fitting a smaller coil tightens it up further when the iron gets really dense. Worth remembering, though, that not everything ferrous is trash on a relic site, since tools, weapon parts and horse tack are often the finds of the day.
